Session 37 - Geek Convention... FIGHT! (Part 2)

Key Points:

• Round two began...
• Death Otter gave Kembu some support by deactivating the animated knives surrounding him.
• Kembu used the opening to go after one of the ninjas. He attempted a non-lethal blow, but his cursed sword had other ideas; forcing him to kill the ninja.
• Setter took a moment to heal himself; then unleashed fiery rain down upon a few of his enemies.
• Demeter took a moment to severely wound Setter; undoing all his healing. She also stabbed Prometheus with a poisoned blade; poison that he would later succumb to and be knocked unconscious from.
• In the background, Nacht took his time in setting up several time-delayed grenade traps for the group.
• Aria decided to force feed her brother a healing potion, then dragged the ninja (Ben) with her to her new location near the melee.
• Of the ninjas, only one managed to land a strike; a thrown knife on Setter.
• Managirl healed Setter with a soothing water; then unleashed a powerful air-fueled strike against Demeter. She even breathed fire against a few of the ninjas thanks to a consumable she had.
• The animated daggers each found targets; Aria, Kembu, and Managirl...pinning them to the ground by stabbing their feet.
• Demeter's extreme alacrity allowed her to continue assaulting the group; wounding Managirl and Kembu.
• Roan got into the fray; firing at and wounding Demeter. He also warned the group that Nacht was nearby and that he was the unhappy buyer of Prometheus' goods...

• Round three, bro!
• Death Otter continued to throw down area, mental attacks in support of the group; ninjas feeling itchy and what not.
• Setter unleashed several powerful mind attacks; forcing Demeter to stab herself and for the group to feel bolstered when attacking her.
• Kembu tried to free his sister from the knife stabbing her, but failed, and instead turned his efforts against Demeter.
• Demeter resisted Setter's attempts to control her mind long term and instead tried to kill Setter; but Aria intervened and took the strike for the hengeyokai. Demeter paid Aria's kindness by striking her again. Aria at least got a strike in; grappling Demeter.
• Nacht revealed his first trap; a sleep grenade aimed at the group and the ninjas...
• Aria managed an impressive take down on Demeter; placing her in a submission hold, but unfortunately succumbed to the sleep grenade and fell unconscious.
• The ninjas kept up their assault; one stabbing Managirl and taking the girl down into dying.
• One of the last daggers kept Kembu tied down.
• Despite being knocked prone, Demeter continued her assault; wounding Kembu and Setter further.
• Roan got off another impressive shot against Demeter, but failed to locate Nacht...

• Round four, dawg!
• Setter managed to get Managirl conscious again; but soon fell unconscious from the gas.
• Death Otter seemed impressive; weaving her freediving to harm the foes.
• Kembu managed to end Demeter; driving his hell fueled, oni cursed sword down into the Olympian's heart.
• Kembu, suddenly, felt a sniper round pierce his back and nearly kill him. He, however, managed to remain standing...
• The various ninjas began to be picked off by Kembu, Roan, and Managirl; though they attempted to escape with Prometheus. Ultimately, they would fail in that goal.
• The group quickly tried to recover; Setter offering to negotiate with Nacht via phone call. Setter would ultimately agree to give Nacht the data found on Pandora's Box in exchange for being allowed to walk out alive with it. Nacht agreed.
• Niklas called Roan; claiming that he had a handle on security and the cameras in order to cover the group's tracks. Upon being informed that Nacht was present, however, Niklas claimed that the game was changed and that he had to call it in.
• The group sought out Nacht; but it seemed he had fled the immediate battlefield.
• The group helped the unconscious Prometheus out of the convention hall; he regaining consciousness along the way. The group also took Demeter's corpse.

• The group managed to flee the convention center with their prizes intact. It was decided that Prometheus would ride with Aria while the rest of the group would ride in the truck.
• Along the way, Setter treated the group's wounds...
• Setter discussed that he would have to take Prometheus to see a contact of his in order to get a new identity created for Prometheus. He asked the group not to come along; as he wanted to keep his contact a secret and to keep the group away from his past life that he burned. The group ultimately agreed; hoping that it would prove their trust in Setter.
• Setter revealed what Pandora's Box was to the group: a USB with sensitive information on Genesis. The group didn't like Setter negotiating on their behalf with Nacht in regards to the content. However, it was ultimately decided that once the sensitive information on the Box was revealed, that the group would decide what to do with it. As is, Genesis thinks that the group is handing it over to them. Nacht thinks so as well. And EARTHQUAKE believes the information is rightfully theirs, so they'll be after it too.
• Prometheus revealed a little about himself to Aria along the way. Prometheus is a veteran of one of the Elven Wars; conflicts between Ezra and Ramesses. He is an obvious alcoholic and a gambling addict. He seemed to know the song that Aria had heard on the radio; a childhood lullaby of hers. He told her that a war buddy he had used to hum it a lot and that the song was hold; around before it got popular. Aria looked familiar to him; but he couldn't place why.

• The group eventually retired to the Kobold Hotel in the upper city of the business district. The Kobold Hotel being one of many in a long chain of hotels. It was about evening time, but the group decided it would be a good time to rest given the severity of their wounds in the last conflict.
• Aria and Kembu had a heart-to-heart; Aria worried that the cursed sword was getting the better of Kembu. Kembu refused to give up the sword, but would look into not using it for the time being until Borai could retrieve the seal needed to balance Kembu's sword.
• Aria also revealed that she had returned one of the many calls from her father. They had their own heart-to-heart, her father promising to reveal all the information that he has kept secret to her. He seemed sincere in his goal, however, to reunite their family: Aria, Kembu, father, and mother. He promised her he would text her a location where they could talk, since it wasn't safe over the phone, but their conversation was interrupted by gunshots.
• Setter and Prometheus hammered out the rest of their negotiations; 1,125,000 GP and a new identity in exchange for Prometheus' box. Setter's plan was to use the 3,125,000 GP budget from Rickenato to pay off Prometheus, pay for the new identity, and then... well, Setter figured the rest could be used on the group.

• The group settles in to rest at the Kobold Hotel...
• It will take some time for Setter to get Prometheus what he wants; likely putting the two out of commission for a day.
• The group could lay low, though it is likely that Genesis will contact them soon.
• Not only that, but the Olympians and potentially Nacht will be looking for them as well...

Current Objectives:

• Complete Gwen Morrison's Deal: The group's innocence in the parade's assassination in exchange for defeating the Olympians (5/12).
• Complete the Middleman's Third Job: Recover Pandora's Box for Rickenato.
• Receive the Middleman's Answers.
• Pursue Personal Goals.
• Roan: Defeat Nacht.
• Setter: Revenge.
• Kembu: Save the girl.
• Managirl: Find yourself.
• Aria: Reunite your family.
• Del: Save the world.
